Beliefs & values

At Via Vitae Church, our beliefs are centered on Jesus and grounded in Scripture. Our values shape how we preach, pray, practice This Week’s Actions, and walk together in community—online and in person. This page gives a simple overview of what we believe and the kind of church we are becoming.

Centered on Jesus, Grounded in Scripture

We believe God has revealed Himself most clearly in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.

We hold to the historic Christian faith:

  • One God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus Christ—fully God and fully human, crucified for our sins and raised to life.

  • The Holy Spirit—God’s presence with us and in us, making us new and empowering us to live.

  • The Bible—God’s inspired Word, our final authority for faith and practice.

  • Salvation by grace—through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts.

The Gospel: Grace, Not Performance

We believe every person is created in God’s image and deeply loved, yet broken by sin. We cannot earn our way back to God by good works, religion, or self-improvement.

The good news is that Jesus lived the life we could not live, died for our sins on the cross, and rose again. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are offered forgiveness, new life, and a restored relationship with God—by grace, through faith.

This grace does not just change our status; it begins to change our desires, habits, and relationships over time.

Scripture First, Lived Out in Practice

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word, trustworthy and sufficient for teaching, correction, and training in righteousness. We read Scripture not just for information but for transformation.

At Via Vitae, every message starts with the Word and ends with This Week’s Actions—Declaration • Seed • Step—so we can respond to what God is saying in concrete ways:

  • Declaration – a truth to believe.

  • Seed – a small daily rhythm.

  • Step – a practical action in real life.

The Church: A People, Not Just a Program

We believe the Church is the global and local body of Christ—a people called, forgiven, and sent. The Church is not a building or a livestream; it’s a community of disciples learning to follow Jesus together.

As a digital-first, human-led church, we gather online and in person. We value:

  • Word in action – Scripture that leads to lived obedience.

  • Honest community – spaces where people can be real and grow.

  • Prayer and care – walking with one another through joy and sorrow.

  • Purpose pathways – practical on-ramps to serve, work, and live for others.

Every Person Made in God’s Image

We believe every person is created in the image of God, with inherent dignity and worth—regardless of background, story, or current beliefs.

Because of this, we seek to:

  • Treat others with respect and compassion, even in disagreement.

  • Care about justice, mercy, and wise stewardship in the places God has planted us.

  • Walk with people, not just talk about issues.

Our Hope: All Things Made New

We believe Jesus will return to judge evil, renew creation, and fully establish His kingdom. Death, sorrow, and injustice will not have the final word.

This future hope fuels present faithfulness. We live now as people of hope—praying, serving, giving, and loving in light of the day when God makes all things new.

From Belief to Way of Life

Our beliefs are not just statements on a page; they are seeds that grow into a way of living. At Via Vitae, that means:

  • Weekly messages rooted in Scripture with clear next steps.

  • Circles where we practice confession, encouragement, and accountability.

  • Prayer & Care for real needs—spiritual, emotional, and practical.

  • Pathways that connect faith with work, relationships, generosity, and service.

In everything, we want to move from Word → Works, as an expression of love for God and neighbor.
