CARE RESOURCES
When you need more help than we can give alone.
Via Vitae Church offers prayer, care conversations, and community—but sometimes you may also need specialized or urgent help. This page points you toward crisis lines, counseling options, and practical support beyond what our team can provide directly.
If You’re in Immediate Danger or Crisis
If you are in immediate danger or having a medical or mental health emergency, please contact your local emergency services right away (for example, call 911 in the U.S. or Canada).
After you are safe, you can also share a prayer request with us and we’ll walk with you in the days ahead.
In the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If you are outside the U.S., please contact your local emergency number or a trusted crisis hotline in your country.
Crisis & Mental Health Support
If you are experiencing intense anxiety, depression, thoughts of self-harm, or feel like you might hurt yourself or someone else, consider reaching out to:
A trusted local doctor or clinic
A licensed Christian counselor or therapist in your area
A crisis hotline or mental-health text/chat line in your country
These services can provide immediate support, safety planning, and ongoing care that goes beyond what we can offer as a church family.
Counseling & Pastoral Care
We believe God often works through wise counselors, doctors, and mental-health professionals. If you’re looking for Christian counseling or deeper care:
Ask your primary care provider if they can refer you to a licensed counselor.
Search for licensed Christian counselors or therapists in your region.
Let us know on the Prayer & Care page if you’d like help praying through next steps.
Safety at Home
If you are experiencing abuse, violence, or feel unsafe where you live:
Your safety comes first.
Consider reaching out to a local domestic violence hotline, shelter, or advocacy center for confidential support and planning.
If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services before anything else.
You can also share a brief, safe version of your situation on our Prayer & Care form if you would like us to pray and walk with you.
Practical & Financial Help
We know that money, housing, and work stress can weigh heavily on your heart. While Via Vitae Church does not replace social services or legal/financial advisors, you may want to explore:
Local community centers or churches that offer food, rent, or utility assistance
Government benefit programs or legal aid services in your area
Employment and training programs that fit your situation
If you’d like us to pray with you or help you think through next steps, reach out on the Prayer & Care page.
